– Fairfield University’s basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Friday night, securing a dominant 93-44 victory against John Jay College.
Prophet Johnson was the standout player for the Stags, finishing the game with an impressive 25 points. In addition to his scoring, he contributed significantly on the boards with 13 rebounds, alongside five assists and three steals, showcasing his all-around skills for the team, which now holds a record of 2-2 for the season.
Peyton Smith was also a key player for Fairfield, adding 14 points and securing six rebounds. Louis Bleechmore played a pivotal role as well, showcasing his shooting ability by hitting 4 of 9 attempts from the field, including two three-pointers. He also made all three of his free throw attempts, finishing the contest with 13 points.
On the opposing side, the Bloodhounds found their leading scorer in Jamir Stewart, who contributed 14 points but could not steer his team to a closer finish in the game.
