In a thrilling contest in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Nick Johnson showcased his skills by scoring 17 points, leading the Winthrop Eagles to a narrow 86-85 victory over the William & Mary Tribe on Friday night.
Johnson further impacted the game with three steals, solidifying his role in the Eagles’ performance, improving their record to 3-1. Bryce Baker also played a crucial role, netting 16 points and hitting a decisive three-pointer just before the final buzzer. He shot 6 of 11 overall, including 4 of 9 from beyond the arc, and contributed six rebounds to the team’s effort. Meanwhile, Kasen Harrison added 15 points, making 5 of 13 from the field and 5 of 6 from the charity stripe, accompanied by three steals.
On the other side, Gabe Dorsey led William & Mary (2-2) with 19 points, demonstrating his scoring ability. Kyle Frazier supported the Tribe with 13 points, along with two steals, while Keller Boothby chipped in with 11 points.
