Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brusdar Graterol will be sidelined for the initial portion of the upcoming season following a surgical procedure aimed at repairing a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
The operation took place on Thursday and was conducted by the renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache, as revealed by the Dodgers on Friday.
Graterol is anticipated to make his comeback during the latter part of the 2025 season, depending on his recovery process.
In the most recent season, Graterol participated in seven regular-season games and played in three World Series matchups against the New York Yankees, where the Dodgers emerged victorious in five games.
During those World Series appearances, he was impressive, conceding only three hits across 2 1/3 innings without allowing any runs.
The 26-year-old right-handed pitcher faced challenges this past year, experiencing shoulder inflammation and a hamstring issue that hindered his performance.
Graterol began his professional journey in Major League Baseball with the Minnesota Twins in 2019 before being traded to the Dodgers ahead of the 2020 season.
Over the course of his career, he boasts a solid 2.78 ERA alongside 11 saves over 188 games.
