WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — In an exciting matchup on Friday, Hasan Abdul-Hakim produced a standout performance, scoring 24 points to lead the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros to an 86-76 victory over the Charleston Southern Buccaneers.
Abdul-Hakim’s impressive effort did not stop at scoring, as he also added four steals to his tally, showcasing his defensive skills. K.T. Raimey contributed significantly as well, pouring in 14 points and shooting 60% from the floor, including two successful 3-pointers out of five attempts. Marshal Destremau also made a notable impact, going 6 of 7 from the field and securing 13 points, along with seven rebounds.
For Charleston Southern, which is now 1-3 on the season, Daylen Berry emerged as the top scorer with 18 points, complementing his offensive stability with five assists and three steals. Taje’ Kelly was formidable in the paint, finishing with 16 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks.
