STOCKTON, Calif. — Trenton McLaughlin played a crucial role in Northern Arizona’s narrow victory over Pacific, finishing the game with 22 points in a 60-57 outcome on Thursday.
In addition to his scoring, McLaughlin recorded six rebounds for the Lumberjacks, who improved their record to 3-1. Jayden Jackson contributed significantly as well, adding 12 points and grabbing five rebounds. Carson Towt tallied nine points after shooting 4 of 9 from the field, although he struggled at the free-throw line, making only 1 of 3 attempts. He also collected 10 rebounds.
On the opposing side, the Tigers, now 3-2, were spearheaded by Elias Ralph, who delivered an impressive performance with 23 points. Ralph also contributed with 11 rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Elijah Fisher was another key player for Pacific, scoring 13 points and pulling down eight rebounds. Jefferson Koulibaly added depth to the scoring with 10 points.
Northern Arizona held a halftime advantage, leading 30-24. McLaughlin was instrumental during the first half, scoring 11 points. The Lumberjacks intensified their lead in the second half, launching a 9-0 run that stretched their advantage from six to 15 points, making the score 39-24 with 18:20 remaining. McLaughlin continued to excel, adding another 11 points in the second half, ultimately securing the win for his team.
