GREENVILLE, N.C. — C.J. Walker delivered a standout performance, scoring 24 points as East Carolina defeated Mount Olive with a commanding score of 110-73 in a game held on Tuesday night.
In addition to his scoring, Walker contributed significantly by grabbing nine rebounds for the Pirates, who improved to an unblemished 3-0 record this season. RJ Felton was also a key player for East Carolina, notching 19 points along with a double-double that included 12 rebounds and eight assists. Joran Riley had an efficient outing, connecting on four of six shots from the field and seven of nine from the free-throw line for a total of 15 points.
For Mount Olive, Chase Dawson led the team in scoring with 13 points, while Lureon Walker added 12 points to the effort. Raul Perez chipped in with 11 points to support the Trojans.
The Pirates seized the lead early, with 19:42 left in the first half, and maintained control throughout the game. Felton was instrumental in creating an early advantage, scoring 14 points in the first half and helping East Carolina to a halftime lead of 58-40. The team further extended its advantage in the second half, surging to a 77-44 lead, driven by an impressive 11-0 scoring spree. In the later stages of the game, C.J. Walker led the way again for the Pirates, adding another 12 points after the break.
