HENDERSON, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders tight end, Michael Mayer, made his return to practice on Tuesday after being absent since September 22 due to personal matters.
Mayer was officially placed on the non-football illness list on October 11, which resulted in him missing the subsequent four games.
In his second year in the league, Mayer started in the first two matchups of this season and participated in a total of three games, recording four receptions for 21 yards so far.
Las Vegas had traded up in the previous draft to select Mayer in the second round from Notre Dame. However, in this year’s draft, they opted to use their 13th overall pick to acquire Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, who has notably tallied 57 receptions for 580 yards and scored two touchdowns this season.
As of now, the Raiders hold a 2-7 record, and they are set to face off against the Miami Dolphins, who currently have a record of 3-6, this coming Sunday.
