LONDON — Queen Camilla of Britain is expected to resume her public engagements on Tuesday after missing several significant events over the weekend due to recovery from a chest infection.

At 77 years old, she has planned to attend a gathering for the finalists of the prestigious Booker Prize for fiction, although she will spend less time interacting with attendees than originally intended. Additionally, she is scheduled to participate in a reception aimed at the film and television industry but will also keep that visit brief.

However, the queen will not be present at the premiere of “Gladiator II” on Wednesday evening, as medical professionals have recommended that she concentrate on her recovery.

Queen Camilla was previously advised to refrain from attending the “Festival of Remembrance” held on Saturday at the Royal Albert Hall in London. She also missed the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph war memorial, which is a significant occasion for the royal family.

These events take place annually on the weekend leading up to Armistice Day, honoring those who have died in service to Britain during both world wars and various conflicts thereafter.
