LOS ANGELES – In a commanding display, UCLA triumphed over Boston University with a score of 71-40 on Monday night, as Eric Dailey Jr. and Lazar Stefanovic both contributed 13 points to the victory.
The Bruins, now holding a record of 2-1, experienced a setback earlier in the day by dropping out of the AP Top 25 rankings following their recent defeat against New Mexico on a neutral site.
UCLA’s defense was a key factor in the game, successfully forcing an astounding 28 turnovers, which translated into 36 points for the Bruins.
Kyrone Alexander was the standout for the Terriers, scoring 10 points and being their only player to reach double figures as Boston University struggles to find their rhythm this season, now at 0-3.
A decisive moment in the game came during a stretch where UCLA went on a 22-3 run, bridging the end of the first half into the second, which enabled them to build a substantial lead of 50-22.
During this scoring barrage, six players contributed, highlighted by Kobe Johnson, who added four points. After Boston University managed to narrow the gap to 52-32, UCLA quickly responded with a 10-point surge, stretching their advantage to an impressive 30 points.
In addition to his scoring output, Dailey showcased an all-around performance with five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Sebastian Mack also made a significant contribution, scoring 12 points for the Bruins.
