COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Zhuric Phelps contributed significantly to the game, scoring 16 points, while Wade Taylor IV and Andersson Garcia each tallied 15 points in a commanding performance by the No. 23 Texas A&M, who triumphed over Lamar with a final score of 97-71 on Monday night.

Henry Coleman III also made his mark on the game, adding 13 points for the Aggies, who improved their record to 2-1. Despite a recent drop of 10 spots in the Associated Press Top 25 rankings, the team has bounced back with successive victories against Lamar (1-1) and East Texas A&M, following their season’s opening loss to UCF, which ended 64-61 on November 4.

Lamar’s Alexis Marmolejos was the standout performer for his team, finishing the night with 23 points.

Zhuric Phelps, who transferred from SMU, has proven to be a pivotal addition to the Aggies, leading the scoring in their last two matchups after missing the season opener due to a hand injury. The Aggies displayed an impressive shooting percentage of 55.2% from the field throughout the game.

Additionally, with this victory, sixth-year head coach Buzz Williams celebrated his 350th career win, achieving a 350-218 record over his 18-season coaching tenure.
