ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — On Monday, Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott shared that starting linebacker Matt Milano is set to return to practice this week following a three-month absence due to a torn left biceps. However, he will not be available to compete against the Kansas City Chiefs this upcoming Sunday.
This announcement marks the beginning of a 21-day period during which Milano can be activated from injured reserve. As the Bills hold an 8-2 record and are currently leading the AFC East, they will enter their bye week after facing the Chiefs. Consequently, the earliest Milano could see game action again would be during the Bills’ home matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on December 1.
Milano has been sidelined for over a year after suffering a broken right leg, which kept him out for the final 12 games of last season. The 30-year-old underwent surgery in August to repair his biceps after sustaining the injury during a training camp session.
Additionally, Coach McDermott indicated that rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman will sit out his second consecutive game due to a wrist injury. On a more positive note, he mentioned that receiver Amari Cooper is making progress and may possibly return to action after missing two games because of a wrist issue.
McDermott did not provide any new information regarding starting tight end Dalton Kincaid, who was forced to leave the recent 30-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts with a knee injury.
