CORAL GABLES, Fla. — In a dynamic performance on Sunday, Jalen Blackmon and Nijel Pack each netted 17 points, leading Miami to a comfortable 88-64 victory over Binghamton.

Blackmon, who previously spent two seasons at Stetson, showcased his shooting skills, hitting 5 of his 9 attempts, including three three-pointers, and sinking 4 of 5 free throws for the Hurricanes, who now have a record of 2-0. Pack, on the other hand, managed to score his 17 points on 6 of 13 shooting, adding a couple of three-pointers and dishing out six assists.

Coming off the bench, Jalil Bethea contributed 13 points to Miami’s scoring spree, while fellow reserve Matt Cleveland had a strong outing with nine points and an impressive 11 rebounds.

Gavin Walsh led the charge for Binghamton (1-2), finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He made 7 of his 13 shot attempts, including 4 of 7 from long range. Nehemia Benson also made a notable contribution from the bench, adding 12 points to the mix.

The game began with Binghamton establishing an early lead of 10-4 as Tymu Chenery and Walsh each contributed five points. However, Pack quickly shifted the momentum, sinking two three-pointers and a jumper as Miami answered with a 12-point run, reclaiming the lead and never looking back.

Exhibiting their shooting prowess, Blackmon converted on all three of his three-point attempts, leading to a halftime score of 46-25 in favor of the Hurricanes.

In the second half, Pack hit another three-pointer, followed by A.J. Staton-McCray who added two successful free throws, pushing Miami’s lead to its largest margin of the game at 83-54 with just 4:35 left on the clock.

Looking ahead, Miami is set to host Coppin State next Sunday in what promises to be another exciting matchup.
