NEW ORLEANS — In a decisive match on Saturday night, Troy triumphed over New Orleans with a score of 78-61, led by Jackson Fields, who contributed 15 points to the Trojans’ victory.
Fields not only excelled in scoring but also showcased his versatility by grabbing 10 rebounds, supporting his team immensely as they improved to a record of 2-0.
Thomas Dowd made a solid impact as well, scoring 14 points, with a shooting record of 6 for 14 that included two successful three-pointers out of seven attempts. He also contributed six rebounds to the team effort.
Tayton Conerway rounded out the scoring for Troy by netting 11 points on 5 of 11 shooting, including 1 of 4 from three-point territory, while also making his presence felt with five rebounds and six assists.
On the opposing side, New Orleans struggled to find their rhythm, despite James White’s commendable performance where he scored 23 points and collected eight rebounds.
Jah Short also played a key role for the Privateers (0-2), adding 14 points and recording four steals during the game, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in their favor.
