LOGAN, Utah — In an impressive display, Utah State triumphed over Charlotte with a score of 103-74 on Saturday night, driven by Ian Martinez’s standout performance of 23 points.
Martinez achieved an efficient shooting night, hitting 7 of 13 from the field, with one of his four attempts from beyond the arc finding the net, and converting 8 of 10 free-throw attempts.
Supporting him, Dexter Akanno contributed 15 points with a shooting line of 5 for 8, while he successfully sank 2 of 3 from long range and 3 of 4 from the charity stripe.
Karson Templin also made a significant impact, completing all six of his field-goal attempts to add 12 points for the Aggies, who improved their record to 2-0.
On the opposing side, the 49ers managed to keep pace with Robert Braswell leading their efforts, scoring 20 points.
Nik Graves contributed with 15 points and dished out four assists, while Giancarlo Rosado added 12 points of his own.
Akanno was particularly effective during the first half, leading the Aggies in scoring with 15 points and helping the team secure a 52-39 lead at halftime.
