Isaiah Barnes showcased an impressive performance as he scored 22 points, leading Tulsa to a commanding 103-80 victory over UAPB on Saturday evening.
Barnes recorded his points with an efficient shooting display, going 7 for 14 from the field, including 3 for 7 from three-point range, and made 5 of 7 attempts from the free-throw line. His contributions propelled the Golden Hurricane to an undefeated start with a record of 2-0. Keaston Willis also made a significant impact, contributing 17 points, shooting 3 for 5 overall and nailing 2 of 4 from beyond the arc while converting all 9 of his free-throw attempts. He further bolstered his performance with six rebounds. Tyshawn Archie added 15 points as well, managing to shoot 7 for 12, but struggled slightly from three-point territory, hitting 1 out of 6 attempts.
For UAPB, which now holds a record of 1-2, Zach Reinhart was the standout player, finishing with 15 points and providing four assists. His teammate Dante Sawyer matched his scoring with another 15 points, while Christian Moore contributed to the effort with 11 points and three steals.
At halftime, the score reflected Tulsa’s dominant play, with a 52-36 lead; Barnes had already tallied 13 points by that time, laying the groundwork for his team’s strong second-half performance.
