LOS CABOS, Mexico — Justin Lower sank an 11-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th hole, positioning himself among the leaders on Saturday during the World Wide Technology Championship. He is currently sharing the top spot with Nico Echavarria and Carson Young.

Lower delivered an impressive performance, carding a 9-under 63 during a day when the winds were less of a factor, matching his best round on the PGA Tour. His total score now stands at 16-under 200 at El Cardonal, the course designed by Tiger Woods, alongside Echavarria, who finished with a 68, and Young, who recorded a 67.

“There are 18 holes to play tomorrow on a course where scoring is achievable,” Lower commented. “I expect the wind to remain calm, so my aim is to shoot anywhere from 5 to 9 under again. The nature of this course means that lower scores will prevail when the wind is down.”

The 35-year-old American had a flawless round, notching a birdie on the par-4 17th hole. Lower is eager to secure his first victory on tour. He stated, “I just want to gauge my potential and show myself that I can achieve something significant in this game.”

Colombian golfer Echavarria is riding the momentum of his recent success, having claimed his second PGA Tour title just two weeks ago at the Zozo Championship in Japan. On Saturday, he parred the last six holes of his round. “I hope the wind picks up because I enjoy playing in windy conditions,” Echavarria mentioned. “I think I’ll handle it well out here. My strategy remains the same; good golf might just be sufficient.”

Carson Young made a substantial improvement on Friday with a round of 61, though he is still pursuing his first win on the tour. “This is why I’m here,” Young expressed. “I’m eager to win and thrilled to find myself in a strong position heading into tomorrow.”

Just a stroke behind the leaders are Joe Highsmith, who shot a 65, Austin Eckroat with a 66, and Max Greyserman, who finished at 69. Notably, Greyserman was the runner-up behind Echavarria in Japan. Others on the leaderboard include Ben Griffin with a score of 66 and Maverick McNealy at 67, placing them at 14-under.
