ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills have announced that linebacker Baylon Spector has been placed on injured reserve following a calf injury he incurred during practice earlier this week.
Initially regarded as questionable for the upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Spector is now set to miss at least the next four games.
In his third season with the team, Spector has taken the field as a starter three times this year, stepping in for Terrel Bernard. Even when not starting, he has been the main backup for Dorian Williams, who is currently filling the void left by Matt Milano at the outside linebacker position.
Milano has been out of action since August after suffering a torn left biceps, and he is not anticipated to return until the early part of December.
As the Bills, who lead the AFC East with a 7-2 record, navigate their roster, they have also elevated wide receivers Tyrell Shavers and K.J. Hamler from the practice squad.
The team may face challenges in the receiving corps as rookie Keon Coleman is expected to be sidelined for multiple weeks due to a wrist injury, while Amari Cooper’s status is uncertain as he has been listed as questionable with a left wrist injury.
