MONROE, La. — In an impressive display of offense, Texas State triumphed over Louisiana-Monroe with a score of 38-17 on Saturday afternoon. Backup quarterback Brad Jackson delivered a standout performance, rushing for 126 yards and crossing the end zone twice. His teammate, Deion Hankins, also made a significant contribution by running for 117 yards and adding another touchdown to the scoreboard. The Bobcats showcased their ground game prowess, accumulating a total of 326 rushing yards throughout the contest.

Starting quarterback Jordan McCloud threw for one touchdown and ran in another, further solidifying the team’s offensive strategy. During the game, McCloud completed eight of 14 passes for a total of 72 yards, with Jackson contributing an additional 16 yards. The first half ended with Texas State in a commanding position, leading 28-0, thanks in part to a 41-yard touchdown pass from McCloud to Kole Wilson.

On the opposing side, Ahmad Hardy led the Warhawks’ offense, rushing for 105 yards, and he scored on two short touchdown runs in the third quarter, helping bring the team to a more competitive stance. The Warhawks, with a record standing of 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the Sun Belt Conference, fought hard to make a comeback.

Later in the fourth quarter, Texas State capitalized on an interception, transforming it into a field goal. However, Louisiana-Monroe quickly responded with their own field goal. In the final minute of the game, to seal the victory, Jackson added a finishing touch with a 13-yard touchdown run, ensuring the Bobcats would leave the field with a significant win.
