HONOLULU – In an impressive display of teamwork and skill, Pacific secured a victory over San Jose State, winning 80-67 in a thrilling matchup during the Rainbow Classic on Friday evening.
Elias Ralph and Lamar Washington were standout performers for the Tigers, each contributing 14 points to the team’s total. Ralph also made a significant impact on the boards, grabbing 10 rebounds, while Washington showcased his all-around abilities with 10 assists and seven rebounds to complement his scoring.
Elijah Fisher played a crucial role as well, hitting 4 of 6 shots from the field and converting 5 of 6 free throws to add 13 points to the scoreboard.
On the opposing side, the Spartans struggled to find their rhythm, with Josh Uduje leading the team with 15 points, followed closely by Will McClendon who netted 14 points and Robert Vaihola who added 12 points to the mix.
The Tigers seized the lead with 15:27 remaining in the first half and maintained it throughout the game. Jefferson Koulibaly was instrumental in the first half, leading the team with 11 points, which helped Pacific establish a solid 38-29 advantage at halftime.
With this victory, Pacific improves their record to 2-0, while San Jose State falls to 0-2, setting the stage for further competition as the tournament continues.
