BRYN MAWR, Pa. — Villanova triumphed over NJIT with a decisive score of 91-54 during a game on Friday night, highlighted by a standout performance from Eric Dixon, who scored 22 points.
In addition to his point total, Dixon secured 10 rebounds for the Wildcats, marking a significant contribution to his team’s success. Wooga Poplar also had a solid showing, contributing 12 points on an efficient 5 of 10 shooting, including hitting 2 of 4 from three-point range, along with five rebounds. Enoch Boakye rounded out the scoring with 12 points as well, going a perfect 4 for 4 from the field and converting 4 of 5 free throw attempts.
On the other side, Tariq Francis led the Highlanders with 12 points and added six assists, while Tim Moore Jr. also registered 12 points and recorded two blocks.
Villanova established control of the game with 13:22 remaining in the first half, taking a lead they would not give up. Dixon was instrumental in the first half, leading his team with 11 points and helping secure a 41-25 advantage by halftime. The Wildcats further distanced themselves from NJIT in the second half, executing a commanding 12-0 scoring run that increased their lead to 30 points. Dixon continued his strong play, topping the scoring charts again in the second half with 11 points.
