CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers achieved a remarkable victory against the Golden State Warriors, winning 136-117 on Friday night. With this triumph, they marked an unprecedented start to the season by winning their first ten games, the best in franchise history.

This win allowed the Cavaliers to make NBA history as they became the first team to start a season 10-0 while scoring no fewer than 110 points in each of those games. The previous record was held by Wilt Chamberlain’s 1960-61 Philadelphia Warriors, who achieved nine consecutive games with at least 110 points.

Cleveland established a franchise record with a staggering 41-point lead at halftime, going into the locker room at 83-42. This margin was among the largest recorded during the shot clock era, and the team also tied its record for the most points scored in a single half. Ty Jerome played a crucial role in the first half, contributing 13 of his 20 points before halftime.

For the Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga led their scoring with 21 points, while Stephen Curry managed 12 points but struggled with six turnovers. This loss marked the end of their six-game road winning streak. Draymond Green added six points but faced challenges with six assists and four fouls throughout the game.

In terms of overall performance, the Warriors struggled during the fourth game of their five-game road stretch. They were outperformed by 25 points during the 24 minutes Curry was on the court and faced a disadvantage of 23 points in the 21 minutes Green played.

For the Cavaliers, they maintained their high-scoring game despite a less-than-stellar performance from All-Star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, who managed just 12 points while hitting only four of his 13 attempts from the field, with an additional four turnovers.

A critical moment in the game came when Garland made two three-pointers and Mobley added six points early on, allowing the Cavaliers to build a commanding 20-2 lead. Golden State struggled offensively, missing eight of their first nine shot attempts, and Green quickly accumulated two fouls within the first six minutes of play.

This matchup marked a unique moment in NBA history, as it was the 21st occasion where an undefeated road team faced an undefeated home team, each with at least four games played. The Cavaliers improved their home record to 5-0 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Looking ahead, the Warriors are set to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, while the Cavaliers will host the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night.
