Towns’ 32-point performance leads Knicks to a 116-94 victory against faltering Bucks

NEW YORK — In a commanding performance, Karl-Anthony Towns secured 32 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, helping the New York Knicks to a decisive 116-94 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. This win allowed the Knicks to end their two-game losing streak and improve their record to 4-4 this season.

The Knicks never found themselves trailing during the match, showcasing a balanced offensive effort with six players scoring in double figures. Jalen Brunson contributed significantly with 15 points alongside nine assists, while Josh Hart added 11 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, marking the Knicks’ third win by at least 20 points this season.

For Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while teammate Damian Lillard added 19 points. Unfortunately for the Bucks, this loss marked their seventh defeat in eight games, placing their road record at a dismal 1-5 this season.

Fresh off breaking a six-game losing streak with an impressive 23-point home win against the Utah Jazz, Milwaukee struggled to contain the talented Towns and the reenergized Knicks. Towns exploded for 27 points in the first half alone, allowing New York to establish a comfortable 66-47 lead by halftime.

Towns’ shooting included four successful 3-pointers, three of which he sank within the game’s opening five minutes, including his first basket. The 7-footer further entertained the home crowd with stunning one-handed dunks in the second quarter, notably one over Bucks’ center Brook Lopez.

As the fourth quarter began, the Knicks surged, pulling ahead by as much as 30 points thanks to a 22-11 run, heavily fueled by guard Miles McBride, who netted 14 points, and rookie Tyler Kolek, who contributed 8 points.

Looking ahead, the Bucks will host the Boston Celtics on Sunday, while the Knicks will travel to face the Indiana Pacers on the same day.
