Democratic Representative Andrea Salinas has successfully secured reelection for a U.S. House seat in Oregon as of Friday.
Salinas, who is currently serving her first term, faced off against Republican candidate Mike Erickson, who had previously attempted to unseat her in the 2022 elections without success.
The district in question, which is centered in Salem, demonstrated strong Democratic support during the 2020 presidential election, where Democrat Joe Biden would have likely won by a significant margin.
The announcement of Salinas’ victory was made at 8:31 p.m. EST, confirming her continuing role in Congress and reflecting her constituents’ support once more.
