STANFORD, Calif. — Benny Gealer had an outstanding performance, scoring a career-best 20 points, including six 3-pointers, all in the second half. Maxime Raynaud also contributed significantly with 14 points and a remarkable 14 rebounds, leading Stanford to a decisive victory over Cal State Fullerton with a score of 80-53 on Friday evening.

At halftime, Stanford maintained a slim lead of 30-27, aided by Raynaud’s late 3-pointer with just 23 seconds remaining in the first half. The Titans initially took control of the game with a strong surge, outscoring Stanford 15-1, which allowed them to establish a double-digit advantage with 7:37 left in the first half. However, they struggled offensively, failing to score a field goal in the final 12 minutes before the break.

The momentum shifted in the second half when Stanford launched a 13-0 run, marking their first double-digit lead at 49-38. The Cardinal found their rhythm early on, hitting six 3-pointers within the first eight minutes, which helped them build a comfortable cushion.

Gealer showcased an impressive shooting display, hitting six of his seven attempts from beyond the arc, contributing to Stanford’s overall 38% shooting rate from 3-point territory (12 of 32). In contrast, Cal State Fullerton struggled, making only three out of their 12 attempts from long range. Gealer’s stellar performance included tying his previous high of 14 points with a deep three-pointer with 12:38 left in the game.

Stanford’s offense was further bolstered by Jaylen Blakes, who added 19 points along with five assists, and Chisom Okpara chipped in with 10 points. For Cal State Fullerton, John Mikey Square was the team’s top scorer with 13 points, while Zachary Visentin contributed 10 points. The Titans faced difficulties throughout the game, shooting just 33% from the field (13 of 40) but were more effective at the free-throw line, hitting 24 of 33 attempts.
