MORAGA, Calif. — In an impressive matchup, Augustas Marciulionis led the Saint Mary’s Gaels to an 86-74 victory over the Chattanooga Mocs on Thursday night, scoring a remarkable 27 points.
Marciulionis also contributed significantly to the team’s effort by providing seven assists. The Gaels, who improved their record to 2-0 with this win, saw strong performances from Paulius Murauskas, who netted 23 points. Murauskas displayed excellent shooting skills, hitting 7 of 11 attempts from the field, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc, alongside converting 7 of 9 free throw attempts. He also made his mark on the boards with 11 rebounds.
Mikey Lewis added 14 points for Saint Mary’s, shooting 5 of 10 overall and making 2 of 7 from three-point range, while converting 2 of 5 free throws.
For Chattanooga, who fell to 0-2 for the season, Makai Richards was the standout performer, finishing with 19 points. Honor Huff contributed 14 points to the team’s total, while Trey Bonham scored 13 points, grabbed six rebounds, and recorded three steals in a determined effort.
