The Air Force Academy faced off against Jacksonville State on Thursday night, with a final score of 73-67, marking a successful night for Ethan Taylor, who was instrumental in the Falcons’ victory by scoring 23 points.
In addition to his points, Taylor contributed significantly by grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out six assists, highlighting his all-around performance for the Falcons, who now hold a record of 1-1 for the season. Jeffrey Mills also played a crucial role, scoring 18 points and securing five rebounds, while Luke Kearney added 13 points to the scoreboard, hitting 5 of 10 shots, including three from three-point range.
On the other side of the court, Jaron Pierre Jr. emerged as the top performer for the Gamecocks, finishing with 21 points and four assists. Koree Cotton added 10 points to the team’s total, while Mason Nicholson contributed with nine points.
During the first half, Mills was particularly effective, scoring 12 of his total points, but the Falcons found themselves behind at halftime, trailing with a score of 30-22. In the second half, however, Taylor’s impressive 19-point performance propelled Air Force forward, enabling them to ultimately secure the six-point win.
