BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In an exciting matchup on Thursday night, UAB triumphed over Southern Miss with a score of 98-84. Both Christian Coleman and Yaxel Lendeborg stood out for the Blazers, contributing 21 points each to the team’s success.
Coleman also recorded nine rebounds and provided five assists, showcasing his all-around performance for UAB (1-1). Lendeborg supported the team with five rebounds, six assists, and four steals, further solidifying his impact on the game. Tyren Moore also played a critical role by scoring 18 points, making six of his 11 shots, while notably hitting four out of eight attempts from behind the arc.
On the Southern Miss side, Neftali Alvarez emerged as the top scorer with 21 points, while Deantoni Gordon contributed 20 points. Additionally, Denijay Harris made his presence known with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks, providing a solid performance despite the team’s defeat.
