On Wednesday, Republican Troy Downing emerged victorious in the election for a U.S. House seat that represents Montana.
Downing is not only a business owner and a veteran but also serves as the state auditor and insurance commissioner for Montana.
He will be the representative for eastern Montana, a region that includes notable cities such as Billings, Great Falls, and Helena.
This seat became available when Republican Matt Rosendale opted not to pursue a second term in office.
In the race, Downing triumphed over Democratic candidate John Driscoll, who notably did not report any fundraising or spending in his campaign efforts.
The announcement of Downing’s victory was made by news outlets at 1:02 a.m. EST.
