Democratic Representative Angie Craig has successfully secured reelection to her U.S. House seat for Minnesota, as announced on Tuesday.
Craig, who has a background in journalism and communications, will embark on her fourth term representing the suburban and rural regions located south of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
She triumphed over Republican contender Joe Teirab, who has served in the Marine Corps, worked as a federal prosecutor, and is the son of a Sudanese immigrant.
The race for the 2nd Congressional District is regarded as Minnesota’s most competitive electoral district.
Election officials confirmed Craig’s victory shortly after 11:52 p.m. EST.
