Republican Representative Brad Finstad has successfully secured reelection to the U.S. House, representing the state of Minnesota.
The New Ulm resident was campaigning for his second full term in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District.
Before entering Congress, Finstad held the position of state director for USDA Rural Development during the presidency of Donald Trump.
In August 2022, he was elected in a special election to fill the vacancy left by the late Republican Representative Jim Hagedorn and subsequently won a full term in the November elections.
His challenger, Rachel Bohman, hails from Rochester and has a background as the elections chief in Hennepin County.
The race concluded with Finstad being declared the winner at 11:42 p.m. EST.
