Burlison’s victory marks his second term serving in a strongly Republican district located in southwestern Missouri, which encompasses the Joplin area.
Prior to his election to the U.S. House in 2022, Burlison held positions in both the Missouri House and Senate.
He also has experience as a business analyst and software consultant.
During his initial term, Burlison became associated with the conservative Freedom Caucus, advocating for a reduction in the federal government’s size and a cut in taxes.
