On Tuesday, Republican Congressman Tracey Mann secured reelection for his U.S. House seat in Kansas, marking his third consecutive term. He triumphed over Democrat Paul Buskirk in the predominantly Republican 1st Congressional District, which is regarded as a secure seat for GOP candidates.
Mann, who previously served as the lieutenant governor of Kansas, first took office in Congress in 2020. The 1st Congressional District encompasses a vast area of western and much of central Kansas, while also including Lawrence, the hometown of his Democratic opponent Buskirk, located in the northeastern part of the state.
Paul Buskirk, a psychologist by profession, is involved in providing academic counseling for student-athletes at the University of Kansas’s main campus in Lawrence.
The election results were officially announced, with Mann being declared the victor at 10:41 p.m. EST.
