Democratic Representative Paul Tonko successfully secured another term in the U.S. House, representing New York in the elections held on Tuesday.
Tonko first took his seat in Congress in 2008, and prior to his tenure in Washington, he dedicated over twenty years to serving in the New York State Assembly.
After his time in the Assembly, he resigned to lead the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
With a background in engineering, Tonko currently serves on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
His congressional district encompasses areas such as Albany, Schenectady, and Saratoga Springs in upstate New York.
Over the years, he has developed a strong reputation for actively participating in local events throughout his district, ensuring he remains connected with his constituents.
