Republican Representative Mike Ezell has successfully secured another term in the U.S. House for his Mississippi district following Tuesday’s elections.
Ezell emerged victorious over his Democratic opponent, Craig Raybon, who has experience as a director of a nonprofit organization and has also worked as a truck driver.
With a background of over 42 years in law enforcement, which includes eight years serving as sheriff of Jackson County, Ezell has established a significant presence in the area.
He first entered Congress in 2022, representing Mississippi’s 4th Congressional District.
Currently, he holds positions on both the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as well as the House Homeland Security Committee.
Ezell’s campaign primarily focused on his staunch anti-abortion stance, commitment to supporting veterans, and efforts to enhance security along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The election results were confirmed, with Ezell being declared the winner at 9:53 p.m. EST.
