Republican Representative Nicole Malliotakis has successfully secured reelection for her U.S. House seat in New York, as of Tuesday’s results.
Serving as the sole Republican voice from New York City in Congress, Malliotakis represents the Staten Island area, along with parts of southern Brooklyn.
Previously, she faced off against Democrat Bill de Blasio in the 2017 New York City mayoral election but fell short, losing by a significant margin in a predominantly Democratic city.
Despite this setback, she has built a strong base of support in the more conservative region of Staten Island.
Malliotakis first entered Congress in 2020 when she reclaimed her seat from a Democratic opponent.
The announcement of her victory was made at 9:11 p.m. EST.
