Republican Representative Victoria Spartz has successfully secured reelection for a U.S. House seat in Indiana.
On Tuesday, Spartz won her third term by defeating Democrat Deborah Pickett.
A certified public accountant by profession, Spartz is known for her fiscal conservatism, advocating for reductions in federal spending.
Having immigrated from Ukraine two decades ago, she has voiced concerns regarding the current immigration system, describing it as overly expensive and complex.
In contrast, Pickett’s campaign centered on themes like accountability for elected officials, ensuring full funding for social services, safeguarding natural resources, and appropriately supporting the military through adequate funding and training.
The victory for Spartz was confirmed at 8:33 p.m. EST.
