Smith triumphed over Democrat Matthew Jenkins and two other candidates in the contest for New Jersey’s 4th District.
With a lengthy tenure, Smith has become the longest-serving member of the current congressional delegation from New Jersey, having first entered Congress in 1980.
The results were announced by a news organization at 8:32 p.m. EST, confirming Smith’s victory.
