Republican Representative Josh Brecheen has successfully secured reelection for a U.S. House seat in Oklahoma following the recent election on Tuesday.
Brecheen, who is serving his first term, emerged victorious over his opponent, Democrat Brandon Wade, who is known for his leadership in union activities in Bartlesville.
A rancher hailing from Coalgate, Brecheen also proudly represents his heritage as a citizen of the Choctaw Nation.
Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District encompasses a vast area across eastern Oklahoma, stretching from the borders of the Red River with Texas all the way to the state line with Kansas.
Brecheen succeeded Markwayne Mullin, the previous representative, who has transitioned to become Oklahoma’s junior U.S. senator.
The results of the election were officially announced at 8:31 p.m. EST, confirming Brecheen’s continued presence in the House.
