SAN ANTONIO — On Tuesday, Shohei Ohtani underwent arthroscopic surgery to address a tear in the labrum of his left shoulder, an injury sustained while playing in Game 2 of the World Series on October 26.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that the talented two-way player from Japan is anticipated to be fit for participation in spring training come February.
Ohtani’s injury occurred when he attempted to steal second base, leading to a dislocated shoulder. Despite the setback, he managed to return to the field for the subsequent three games, contributing to the Dodgers’ victory over the New York Yankees in five games, which secured the championship title for the team.
The procedure to repair his shoulder was carried out by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles.
