SAN ANTONIO — In their season opener on Monday night, the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) showcased a convincing performance, defeating Trinity University (TX) with a score of 103-77.
Amir Spears was the standout player for the Roadrunners, contributing an impressive 27 points along with five assists and four steals.
Marcus Millender also had a strong showing, scoring 19 points with an efficient shooting performance of 6 for 11, which included 3 for 6 from beyond the arc, and perfect from the free-throw line at 4 of 4. He also dished out seven assists, further aiding his team’s success.
Jaquan Scott added depth to the scoring, finishing the game with 16 points and shooting 7 for 10 from the field, helping secure the team’s dominant victory.
On the opposing side, Jacob Harvey led the Tigers with 17 points, while Christian Green made a solid contribution with 15 points, including two steals, although it wasn’t enough to overcome the Roadrunners’ high-scoring offense.
Overall, UTSA demonstrated their offensive prowess, marking a strong start to the new season.
