SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — In a dominating performance, the UCSB Gauchos triumphed over San Francisco State with a score of 96-47 on Monday, showcasing a balanced offensive effort.
Zion Sensley contributed significantly with 11 points, alongside five rebounds, helping to solidify the team’s commanding win. Colin Smith matched Sensley’s scoring output, also tallying 11 points. He demonstrated his shooting prowess by hitting 4 of 7 attempts from the field, which included a solid 2 for 4 performance from beyond the three-point arc, though he struggled somewhat at the free-throw line with just 1 for 3. Additionally, Stephan D. Swenson supported the team with 10 points, hitting 3 of 6 attempts overall and 2 of 5 from three-point range.
On the other side of the court, the Gators were led by Tyjean Burrell, who put up 19 points, showcasing his scoring abilities. His efforts, however, weren’t enough to shift the game’s momentum. John Bakke contributed to San Francisco State’s efforts with six points, six rebounds, and a pair of steals, while teammate CJ Bellamy also finished with six points.
