BEAUMONT, Texas – In a dominant performance, Lamar University secured a significant victory against Paul Quinn, winning by a staggering score of 113-42 on Monday.
Leading the charge for the Cardinals was Andrew Holifield, who contributed 20 points to the team’s impressive total. Holifield also added five rebounds to his performance as the Cardinals kicked off their season with a win, improving their record to 1-0.
In addition to Holifield’s standout performance, Alexis Marmolejos showcased his skills by netting 18 points. He shot 7 for 14 from the field, including 2 for 8 from three-point range, and was successful on 2 of 3 attempts from the free-throw line.
Ja’Sean Jackson also made a significant impact with his performance, shooting 7 for 10 overall, including 1 for 3 from the three-point area, finishing with 16 points. His all-around contribution included six rebounds, nine assists, and four steals, underscoring his versatility on the court.
On the other side, the Tigers struggled to keep pace with Lamar’s relentless offense. Derrick Miller led the way for Paul Quinn, wrapping up the game with 12 points. His teammate Naje Williams added eight points, while Jeb Tobin contributed seven points to the team’s total.
