BALTIMORE — In an exciting season opener, Morgan State triumphed over Frostburg State with a score of 89-76 on Monday night.
Wynston Tabbs was the standout performer for the Bears, contributing 24 points to the victory.
He demonstrated impressive shooting accuracy, hitting 8 of 12 attempts from the floor, including 3 out of 4 from beyond the arc, and going a perfect 5 for 5 from the free-throw line.
In addition to Tabbs’ stellar performance, Ahmarie Simpkins also made a significant impact, scoring 19 points and grabbing five rebounds.
Daniel Akitoby added to the scoring with 12 points, shooting 5 of 9 from the field and 2 of 3 from the charity stripe.
On the opposing side, the Bobcats had several noteworthy contributions as well.
Eric Sondberg led Frostburg State’s efforts with 18 points and two steals, while Manok Lual chipped in 15 points.
JayShaun Freeman also made his presence felt, contributing 11 points to the total.
