HOUSTON — In an exciting season opener, the Houston Christian Huskies triumphed over Avila with an impressive score of 86-59 on Monday evening.
Bryson Dawkins was a standout player for the Huskies, contributing a total of 18 points. He demonstrated accuracy, making 6 of 10 attempts from the floor and hitting 3 of 6 shots from beyond the arc, along with converting 3 of 4 free-throw opportunities.
Julian Mackey and Demari Williams were also key contributors to the team’s victory, each netting 11 points.
On the other side of the court, the Eagles were paced in scoring by Jehoiada Goins, who recorded 12 points in the contest. Brionne Williams supported the effort with 10 points and added six rebounds, rounding out a competitive performance for Avila.
It was a solid start to the season for Houston Christian, showcasing their offensive capabilities and teamwork, setting a positive tone for the games ahead. The Huskies will look to build on this momentum as they move forward in the schedule.
