Providence, R.I. — In an exciting season opener on Monday night, Providence triumphed over Central Connecticut State with a close score of 59-55. Bensley Joseph was instrumental in the victory, showcasing his skills by scoring a total of 21 points during the game.
Joseph had an impressive shooting performance, converting 8 of his 14 attempts from the field, with 5 of those being successful 3-point shots. Wesley Cardet Jr. contributed to the team’s efforts by scoring eight points, shooting 3 of 7 from the floor, including 1 for 4 from beyond the arc, and grabbing seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Christ Essandoko added to the scoreline with seven points, shooting 3 of 6 overall, although he struggled a bit at the free-throw line, making just 1 of his 3 attempts.
On the other side, Jordan Jones led the Blue Devils with an equal 21 points to match Joseph’s output.
