Penn State had a well-balanced offensive effort with six players finishing in double digits. Yanic Konan Niederhauser contributed significantly with 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Ace Baldwin Jr. was efficient with four out of five successful shots from beyond the arc, totaling 15 points. D’Marco Dunn and Fred Dilione V each chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively, while Dominick Stewart, coming off the bench, also added 10 points to the scoreboard.
For the Bearcats, Evan Ashe was the standout performer, scoring 16 points with a shooting accuracy of 58%, including two three-pointers. Tymu Chenery managed to score 13 points but struggled with ball control, committing six of Binghamton’s total 21 turnovers. Chris Walker also made an impact off the bench with a solid 12 points.
The Nittany Lions demonstrated impressive shooting skills, finishing the game with 51% from the field, making 35 of 69 attempts, and 42% from three-point range with 13 baskets out of 31 tries. In contrast, Binghamton had difficulties early in the game, shooting only 32% in the first half, resulting in a significant halftime deficit of 54-23, which they could not recover from in the second half.
This matchup marked the second meeting between these two teams, with Penn State previously winning 80-65 in 2017. Last season, Binghamton celebrated its most successful campaign in 15 years, securing 15 victories and showing improvement each year under coach Levell Sanders.
