ROCK HILL, S.C. — In an impressive display on Monday night, Kelton Talford scored 17 points as Winthrop cruised to a 125-65 victory against Piedmont, a Division-III team.
Talford’s performance was bolstered by his nine rebounds, showcasing his versatility on the court.
Bryce Baker made a significant impact as well, notching 16 points by hitting 6 of 11 shots, including a solid 4 of 8 from three-point range.
Ryan Jolly was another key contributor, finishing the night with 15 points, shooting 5 for 8 overall, 1 for 3 from beyond the arc, and perfect from the charity stripe at 4 for 4.
On the other side, Fisher Darden led the Lions with 15 points and tallied two blocks, providing some resistance against Winthrop’s relentless offense.
Bailey Wiseman added 12 points to Piedmont’s effort, while Javi Marlowe chipped in with nine points, helping the team compete against the much stronger Eagles.
