Final Push for Presidential Candidates as Election Day Approaches

The presidential race is reaching its climax as candidates make their final efforts in several key states ahead of Election Day.

Vice President Kamala Harris is dedicating her entire Monday to Pennsylvania, which boasts 19 electoral votes, the highest among the states poised to influence the outcome of the Electoral College. Former President Donald Trump is planning an action-packed schedule that includes rallies in three different states, starting in Raleigh, North Carolina, before heading to Pennsylvania for two stops in Reading and Pittsburgh.

In a bid to energize her campaign, Harris is set to host a rally in Allentown featuring the rapper Fat Joe. She is also expected to visit a Puerto Rican eatery in Reading alongside New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Later that evening, Harris will be in Pittsburgh for another rally that includes performances by various artists such as DJ D-Nice, Katy Perry, and Andra Day. The day’s grand finale will take place at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, known for its iconic “Rocky Steps,” where celebrities including Lady Gaga, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Ricky Martin, and Oprah Winfrey will make appearances and deliver speeches.

Meanwhile, Trump is concluding his campaign with a vigorous schedule that includes four rallies across three critical states. Beginning his day in Raleigh, North Carolina, he emphasizes the state’s importance, having held several events there in recent days. His next stops are in Pennsylvania, considered a vital state in the electoral contest, where he will rally supporters in both Reading and Pittsburgh. Trump will ultimately conclude his day in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a traditional final stop for him, as he has also done in his prior campaigns in 2016 and 2020.

As part of her strategy, Harris is targeting heavily Puerto Rican communities during her campaign in Pennsylvania. After engaging with supporters in Scranton, she will travel to Allentown, a city with a significant Hispanic population, where the event with Fat Joe aligns with the city’s demographics, as he hails from Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage. This focus comes after a controversial comment made at a Trump rally, which added urgency to her outreach efforts. Harris will later venture to Reading for a visit to a Puerto Rican restaurant with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, reinforcing her commitment to connect with local communities.
