In a tragic incident in northern India, a passenger bus lost control and fell into a steep gorge on Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 individuals and injuring more than 25 others, according to officials.
The unfortunate event took place in the Almora district, which is situated in the hilly region of Uttarakhand. The bus was transporting more than 40 passengers at the time of the accident, and as reported by Vineet Pal, a representative of the state government, recovery efforts have thus far retrieved 15 bodies.
Emergency response teams, including rescue and relief workers, have been dispatched to the site of the accident. Authorities have issued warnings that the death toll could increase as efforts continue to reach and save those passengers who may still be trapped inside the bus.
