MANCHESTER, England — On Sunday, Tottenham delivered a commanding performance in the Premier League by defeating Aston Villa 4-1, with Dominic Solanke playing a pivotal role by scoring two goals.
Solanke netted both of his goals just four minutes apart during the second half at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, turning the game around after Villa had taken an initial lead by halftime.
The striker’s goals came in the 75th and 79th minutes, contributing to a remarkable second-half showing from Spurs, which followed their recent triumph over Manchester City in the League Cup the prior Wednesday.
Villa had initially gone ahead in the match thanks to Morgan Rogers, who found the net in the 32nd minute. However, Tottenham’s Brennan Johnson quickly equalized just four minutes after the break.
Following Solanke’s two goals, Spurs pulled ahead 3-1, and James Maddison capped off the scoring by curling a beautiful free kick into the top corner during the sixth minute of stoppage time.
This victory elevates Tottenham to seventh place in the league standings, while Villa, who are currently in fifth, missed the opportunity to break into the top three spots.
